![]() The fault is in our stars, our universe, that life is not more fair without pain, suffering and disease. ![]() Not only does John Green have the guts to contradict Shakespeare, but he is right, and the title is perfect for the story within the covers. John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars was named after a famous quote from William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,/But in ourselves, that we are underlings” (Act I, Scene II, Lines 140-141).
